Shelley Vidia Worrell is the founder of the Flatbush Film Festival, a four-year old event that has served as a platform for annual screenings as well as pop-up cinema series made possible through partnerships with with institutions including Tribeca Cinema, Maysles Cinema, El Museo del Barrio, the Queens Museum of Art and MoCADA. The festival is organized by caribBEING, a non-profit organization Shelley founded in 1999 to build community through the lens of Caribbean cinema, culture and art. Shelley has worked for top media and technology brands including Google, The History Channel, A&E, Time Warner and The Madison Square Garden and has led the successful launch of over 100 digital and cable VOD channels. By blending her media background with her strong connection to her island heritage, Shelley is now working on launching a US-based TV network exclusively dedicated to Caribbean film, music and entertainment.
